February 11th, 2008

With W2K Windows became the largest operating system on earth codewise - seing a few million lines of code doesn’t make W2K an OS/2 clone. I didn’t mean it as “a clone” but more like “relative” bastard children made outside the marriage. And no, Os/2 3.0 is these days known as WinNT. But I’m pretty sure that there is a long, long, long way to Vista’s level from WinNT 3.0 Microsoft started to work in parallel on a version of Windows which was more future-oriented and more portable.

February 11th, 2008

What I intend to do is leave the X1900 card and the X-Fi Xtreme card in the main PC, and use the CPU, PSU, mobo, HDD and memory together with the 7950 and X-Fi from the current HTPC to build a new 2nd HTPC. I m going to pack all this into a Aplus CS-GL-3 Case, which is nice and cheap at 40 pounds and also can hold a ATX card so I don t need to buy a new compact mATX mobo.
